Bloeiend Hillegom heeft afgelopen raadsvergadering meer aandacht gevraagd voor de emancipatie en positieverbetering van de LHBTI groep in de gemeente Hillegom. Dit naar aanleiding van de ophef rondom de anti-homowet in Hongarije en het gegeven dat deze groep nog steeds te maken heeft met geweld en discriminatie.
